DCW staff member plays national anthems at World Drum Corps Hall of Fame

Hans Kloppert (on right), who has been on the Drum Corps World staff for decades, recently attended the annual World Drum Corps Hall of Fame banquet and induction certmony in Valley Forge, PA. He is a past recipient.

He has played and volunteered with many corps, but never with the Hawthorne Caballeros. Hans played the national anthems of United Kingdom and The Netherlands using a Hawthorne trumpet that evening.

Through the years Kloppert has marched and/or directed Jubal, the European corps based in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. Annually he travels to the United States to volunteer with the Concord Blue Devils as the corps’ head chef during their DCI tour.

He has submitted articles and photographs from Drum Corps Holland, Drum Corps Europe and Drum Corps United Kingdom.and is pictured here with Hawthorne Caballeros business manager Al Katz.

Kevin Gamin

Kevin is a lifelong member of the marching arts activity, as well as the 3rd generation of his family to march in drum corps. Attending his first show, the US Open, at age 3, Kevin would go on to march with the Toledo Glassmen in DCI, the Empire Statesmen in DCA, and various alumni corps, including the Bluecoats 50th Anniversary Alumni Corps in 2022. Off the field, Kevin has written for Drum Corps World, Drum Corps Planet, Winter Guard International, and FloMarching. Kevin was also the long time host of the Drum Corps Planet Box Center podcast and is the Managing News Editor of Drum Corps Planet since 2002. More recently, Kevin has moved behind the camera, working with the WGI social media team and providing social media and photography services to the Ohio Indoor Performance Association. Professionally, Kevin has worked in the IT industry for a quarter century. Kevin is happily married to retired school orchestra director Rachel. Both Kevin and Rachel are owned by their four cats.
